Sword of the Spellbreaker is now available!

Book five of the Songreaver’s Tale is now available!

As young Garrett and his friends struggle to rebuild their city after a devastating attack, the Brotherhood of Necromancers calls upon him to lead an expedition to the North. A sinister force there threatens to consume all who would defy the Red God’s will, and Garrett’s only hope of saving those he loves may be to surrender to the brooding power of the Songreaver within him. Across the mountains, Marla returns at last to the city of vampires, where she must face the ultimate test of her humanity and learn the secret of the draconic power that flows through her veins.

The Dead Goddess stirs, ancient demons stalk the land, and the girl no one can remember finally gets the waiter to bring her drink. Such world-shattering revelations await within the pages of Book Five of The Songreaver’s Tale: Sword of the Spellbreaker!

Thank you all for sticking with me. I know it’s been a long wait for Book Five, but it’s finally live on Smashwords, Nook, iBooks, and Kindle! I’ll try to get all the links updated soon, but I wanted to get something out there for everyone who has been asking about the book, and I hope you all enjoy it.

I’m gonna get some sleep now and then get back to work on Book Six!

  1. Read it in a day and I gotta say this is the best one yet. I loved every second of the story. I guess I just find the whole Songreaver persona so interesting! It’s a fantastic book! I’m already excited for number 6!

    1. Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Book Six is coming along nicely, and Garrett is going to learn a bit more about Brahnek Spellbreaker and what it means to take up the mantle of the Songreaver.

  2. Wtf? Hey ive read the first 4 books in the last days and must say they where a good read. But what did you do in book 5? O_o

I dont know about writing spoilers here, but what kind of bullshit is that in chapter 13? It throw me totaly out of the imersion.

Dont get me wrong, i dont need romance in a book, but when implemented its part of the story and here you do… what? Its like a vegetarian brings his friends to a steak restaurant telling his friends how much he likes a good steak.

Sorry, im out at this part, perhaps ill read later further, but thats just… meh.I mean its totaly out of carakter. In book 4 he makes vowes like hes going to war with the total vampire army and in book 5??? Dude, what where you thinking? Is there a deeper meaning, pls tell me what happend that you trhow me so totaly out of imersion and make such a character change?

    Best regards,

    Drake

    1. Yeah, I agonized a lot over this part of the story. I knew it was gonna make some people really angry. Heck, it kinda made me angry, but, in the end, I had to put myself back in the head of the kid I was at Garrett’s age and remember some of the decisions I made that make me want to go back in time and slap myself. I think Scupp’s reaction to all this is not only a bit of an audience surrogate, but she also echoes the role of a girl I knew in high school who once called me out for making some similarly epic bad judgements. In the end though, Scupp is Garrett’s friend, and she’ll stick by him, no matter how stupid she thinks he’s being.

I hope you’ll stick with the story too, and see where it leads, but I will warn you that Garrett has a lot going on in his head these days, more than just addled teen judgment, and, in the near future, he’s going to make some choices that the boy we found lost and alone in Brenhaven would never have even considered.

In any case, thank you for reading.

  3. Hey I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series so far and I am soo looking forward to the next installment. If possible can you please give us a general idea when book 6 should be ready?

    1. Thank you!

I hope to have the first draft of Book 6 done within the next month or so, and, hopefully should have it live within a couple of months after that.

      Thanks for reading!

  4. I’m just wondering if there’s any news on the next book. I’m anxiously waiting! Keep up the good work!

    1. Thanks! The book is in the hands of my beta readers now. Once they finish their edits, it comes back to me for final revisions. Oh, and I should probably get to work on a new map. Marla’s doing a bit of traveling in this one.

  5. I’ve been looking at The Necromancer’s Nephew for a few weeks finally decided to go ahead and buy it. Read it in a day, loved it, bought the rest of the series and I’ve devoured them in till sword of the spellbreaker and not gonna lie taking my time because i didn’t know when i would be seeing book 6… Well that and Marla and Garrett growing further apart has me a little sick, scared, and probably most of all sad but I get distance and experiences change people. Still holding hopes for Garrett an Marla though which makes me sad for Haven. BAH any ways like the books love the people and world that is in them. Thank you for the stories an keeps writing I will be waiting for book 6.

    1. Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying the series.

Book 6 should be ready fairly soon. I’m just struggling with the cover art and updated world map now.
